The Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat airport is located 15 km from the center of Barcelona.
The airport is divided into two terminals (T1 and T2) that are approximately 4 km apart. Between them you can move in buses that circulate continuously during the day and night and are free.
Both T1 and T2 are served by the metro and buses, but the train only goes as far as T2.
Metro
L9 sud (south bound) connects the airport with other metro stations: Torrassa (L1), Collblanc (L5), Zona Universitaria (L3).
The price of the ticket is €5.15 and you can transfer to the metro without any surcharge, but if you need to catch the bus later you will have to buy a regular ticket.

To get to the center of Barcelona it takes about 60 min.
If you go by metro, check that the route corresponds to the L9 sud because there is also the L9 nord (north boud)
Rodalias de Cataluña (train)
If your flight arrives at T2 I recommend this option.
The station is outside T2 and to get there you have to cross a long bridge.
Suburban trains on the R2 line take you to central Barcelona in around 30 minutes.
At Sants Station, you can transfer to the L5 line, at Passeig de Gracia station, you can transfer to the L3 and L4 lines, and at El Clot station, you can transfer to the L1 line.
Barcelona Airport is in Zone 2, so the ticket price to Barcelona is € 2.80.

Buses
Bus line 46 connects terminals T1 and T2 with Plaça España.

- It takes 1 hour to arrive.

If your trip is at night you can use the N16 line that goes from T2 to Plaça Catalunya, the N17 line that goes from T1 to Plaça Catalunya or the N18 line that passes through T1 and T2 and goes to Plaça Catalunya.

- It takes 1 hour to arrive.

Barcelona Aerobus
It has 2 Bus lines. Line A1 leaves from T1 and line A2 leaves from T2. Both make stops at Plaza España, Gran Via-Urgell, Plaza Universidad and Plaza Cataluña. To go to the airport there is also a stop in Sepulveda-Urgell.
